Let fellow fly fishers know how you got on at Monikie
So if you've had a good day at Monikie, why not drop us an email at admin@monikie-angling-club.org.uk to let us know how you got on? We’d be delighted to hear from you.
Please remember that once anglers have kept their allocated rod limit of fish they must stop fishing and leave the water.
Where fishing catch and release (using barbless or de-barbed hooks) anglers must stop fishing when they have their limit, and have released 15 fish.
RETURNS 2026
Week Ending June 13
A week where strong winds made things extremely difficult for fly fishing!
However, those who battled the weather reported successful flies and tactics still favoured lures, Blobs and Fabs down a few feet with some fish also taking Buzzers, Diawl Bach, and Cormorants on sink tip lines.
The Island Pond was stocked on June 11 and the water remains cool and clear so we should see an improvement in catches, hopefully in more favourable weather conditions.
Day Sessions
5 boats (6 rods), 2 fish for 5 lbs 6 ozs, 3 returned.
Evening Sessions
7 rods in 4 boats (7 rods), 2 for 3 lbs 11 ozs, 11 returned.
Notable Catches
Craig Milne (visitor) had a nice fish at 3 lbs 9 ozs.
Alan Lindsay (visitor), 3 returned.
Week Ending June 6
Another challenging week. The water remains crystal clear but the fish are playing hard to get. But fish are showing, and there have been decent rises particularly in the evening.
