Welcome to the home of the Monikie Angling Club. If you are looking for some of the best trout fishing in the East of Scotland, then you've come to the right place.

Monikie Angling Club was formed in 1976 and is located in Monikie and Crombie Country Parks which are just a few miles outside of Dundee. Other than the fishing, the parks are administered by the Angus Council and provide a large variety of facilities.

The Club provides fly fishing for stocked brown and rainbow trout in three ponds spread between the two parks; with the bailiff's hut (complete with tea, coffee and microwave facilities) being located in Monikie Park. There are a total of 21 boats available to members and visitors; including visiting clubs. Anglers are welcome to use their own electric outboard motors, but none are available for hire.

In Monikie Country Park fishing is available for both brown and rainbow trout on the Island Pond, and for rainbow trout only on the North Pond. The fishing at Crombie Country Park is for brown trout only.

Please note that on all ponds it is fly fishing only and no bank fishing is permitted.

The 2010 fishing session dates are:

• All ponds open on Wednesday 17th March

• Crombie closes on Wednesday 6th October

• North Pond closes on Saturday 30th October

• Island Pond closes on Saturday 13 November.

The session times are:

• Day session (whole season) - 09:30 - 16:30

• Evening session - the evening sessions have now ended for the 2010 season

You won't catch double figure fish in the Monikie waters; the heaviest fish caught last season weighed in at 5lb 8oz. However, what you will get is high quality, fully finned, hard fighting trout.
